New Patient Checkup and Clean

What happens in my first dental visit?

At Keperra, we strive to make you feel comfortable and welcomed into a space designed to cater to you. We understand unfamiliar spaces can be intimidating and anxiety-provoking, particularly dental or medical practices. As a new patient, you can expect a warm welcome from our friendly staff, and a calm atmosphere to best ease your stress.

Our initial examinations are thorough and help us identify any problems that can cause functional and cosmetic concerns. We believe in preventative action to maintain your oral health for the long term. A dental exam in our office typically includes:

Tooth decay is a common concern, and important to address quickly. The dentist will use special instruments to check the surfaces of the teeth and look for signs of tooth decay or cavities.

The dentist will also check existing fillings, crowns, etc to monitor their health and stability.

We use periodontal screenings in your check-ups to maintain the health of the gums and bones and look for any signs of gum disease.

The dentist will do a visual and physical exam of the face, neck, and mouth to check for signs of oral cancer.

Digital radiographs help our dentists detect tooth decay, particularly the ones in between teeth, as well as any presenting tumors, cysts, or bone loss for short- and long-term care.

We take a full set of intra oral and extra oral photographs for all of our new patients so we have an accurate way to keep records for regular assessments.

This includes a detailed discussion around your existing teeth, fillings, crowns, denture and or implants. Our dentist will examine your overall oral health and provide various options that are suitable and available to you. We provide a complete itemised estimate for all possible required treatment
